This is definitely one of our favorites on the mountain, especially when you are looking for something just a little more formal. Brad thinks the Flat Iron Steak with Pipian sauce is to die for, especially with a glass of Zinfandel. The spinach salad is a great starter.

Angela loves pizza, especially pepperoni and she has declared Zig Zag Inn's pizza as FINE. Kip and Brad would insist on a beer with that pizza, several microbrews are available. The "Zig Zag" also has great deals on breakfasts.

Kip loves to hit "Panda's" for a little Mountain Asian Fare.

Kip and Brad love the teriyaki. Try the chicken teriyaki, it's great. This is also a great place to get a cup of fresh roasted coffee or some fresh beans to take with you. You can also check out live music at the "Roaster" on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Mark, the owner of the Welches Fly Fishing Shop, has been in the business for years and taught Brad to cast out behind the shop (he has suggested that Brad continue to practice, since chances of catching fish with the fly in the trees is not very good). Mark guides himself and is totally connected to where the fish are, whether its Winter Steelhead in the Sandy or trout on the Deschutes, which is just an hour a way.

Kip's son enjoyed fishing for monstor trout at the farm when first learning the lure of the fishing experience as well. Some of Brad's customers from Asia had a ball here, so if you are interested in guaranteed fish, maybe for those fishing novices, check out the Rainbow Trout Farm.
There is some spectacular hiking in the Mt. Hood area, many of which are less than 15 minutes away from your Bungalow. Brad and Angela really like Ramona Falls, great in the summer when the temperature near the falls is ten degrees less than the rest of the trail. A great loop. Brad and Angela have even gone with friends with kids in backpacks, it's a beautiful hike.
Kip would recommend many of the high lake access trails such as Burnt lake and Cast lake. Excellent fishing for brown trout and magnificent views of Mt. Hood for the eye.
Brad and Angela also really like the Salmon Creek Falls. While not a loop, for most people, it offers some spectacular views of the Salmon River. Great on a spring or summer day.
For a complete list of hiking trails, check them out at www.mthood.info/hikingtrails/alphaindex.html. You will find maps for many of the trails in your Mt. Hood Lifestyle Bungalow!
Kip, in his younger days, used to be quite the daredevil on a mountain bike. There are some great opportunities near your bungalow. You will find maps in your bungalow.
If you are really up for speed, you can check out the Mountain Bike Park at Mt. Hood Skibowl. Take the lifts up and go for speed on the way down! This is also the best place on the mountain to rent mountain bikes.
There are several grocery stores near your bungalow. The best is probably the Thriftway in Welches. However, check out the Brightwood Store, it's close and we have found that they have what we need. Shopping as a recreational activity is not a big part of the Mt. Hood Lifestyle, if you are really looking for that, hop in the car and go to Portland.
There are 27 holes of fun mountain resort golf available at the Resort at the Mountain. The Foxglove nine is unique running along the river.
